Excel Pivot Tables for Beginners | Excel Ignited Day 10 | SSSVEDA

Today, Excel Ignited and SSSVEDA Day 10, I show beginners that Pivot Tables are available to them. Pivot Tables aren’t an intermediate-level tool.

The issue with Pivot Tables is that they require proper spreadsheet layout and an understanding of what’s being asked of the data. Then, Excel’s Pivot Table wizard takes care of the rest.

Getting Good at Excel: Lessons from Victor Wooten’s Bass Camp | Excel Ignited Day 9 | SSSVEDA

In Day 9 of Excel Ignited and SSSVEDA I share some thoughts on how we’ll be going forward through the rest of this month. Rather than teach tips and tricks, we’ll learn by integrating Excel features and data management concepts.

Tips & tricks feel too much like the painful way that my dad and other old jazz musicians learned their craft. No! Let’s actually “make some music” and borrow ideas that have stuck with me since 2005 when I attended Victor Wooten’s Bass/Nature Camp.

The intermission | Excel Ignited | SSSVEDA Day 5

Just 5 days into the “Vlog Every Day” challenge and I wanted to let you know I needed a break. A video a day … WOW! This is going to be a battle. But we’re going to do it.

I just needed to reassess how to pace the content creation over these next few weeks.

Excel IF Function | Excel Ignited | SSSVEDA Day 4

Day 4 of Excel Ignited (Illuminating Excel for Beginners), Today: The IF Function. This is one of what I consider Excel’s primary colors because these 3 things can take a beginner a long long way:

– Filter
– Sort
– IF function

This video provides an extensive explanation of the IF funtion and wraps up with an example of a nested IF statement.

Mentioned in this video is the new IFS function.

What Is Excel? | Excel Ignited Day 1 | SSSDEVA

“What is Excel?”
I’ve been asked this over the years by people who are curious about Excel or want some insight into what Excel can do.

Answering the question is difficult because of the endless ways that people have used Excel to serve their needs.

In this video I answer “What is Excel?” several ways, in summary:
– Excel is a development platform for managing data
– Excel is the second best software for ANY purpose
– Excel is just a tool that serves a purpose.

This video is Day 1 of 31 days of videos as part of #SSSVEDA: Vlog Every Day in August (VEDA). The SSS part is Amy Schmittawer’s SavvySexySocial
