Excel Experts Live Challenge with Owen Price of @flexyourdata | Filling Holes in Data
The next to step into the hotseat for an Excel Experts Live Challenge: Owen Price of @flexyourdata
This challenge is based on filling holes in a dataset. Owen and I both have had similar real world challenges where all of the data is present, there are just holes that can be filled in from other areas in the dataset. Example:
1. Chicago : Bears : 3 caps
2. Denver : Broncos : 1 scarf
3. : Bears : 3 posters
4. Denver : : 1 cap
5. Seattle : : 2 posters
6. Seattle : Seahawks : 4 caps
7. Denver : Broncos : 2 posters
8. Chicago : : 1 cap
What should be in the missing holes are available. In row 5, we know ‘Seahawks’ is missing because of what we see in row 6.
REMINDER: The challenges are about learning as a true expert solves a problem they’re seeing for the first time. We aren’t here to stump the guest or rate their solution.
The idea is to get insight on how real-world solutions happen BEFORE they’re refined.
Watch as Owen digs through his solution using LET, FILTER, dynamic arrays and other Excel features and functions.
